The Product Assurance, Airworthiness and Certification (PAAC) within the Product Integrity organization has a Certification Engineer III position available in Redmond, WA. The successful candidate will conduct the role of Certification Engineer III and will be responsible for showing compliance to FAA regulations by following Honeywell STC ODA Procedures to prepare data packages for aftermarket STCs for the installation of Honeywell products (ACARS, EGPWS, Weather Radar, TCAS, Data Recorders and COM/NAV equipment). Once a complete working knowledge of FAA regulations and ODA Procedures has been demonstrated, the candidate can apply to the Honeywell STC Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) for delegation as a Unit Member (UM). Once delegated, the UM will have the additional responsibility to find compliancetoFAA regulations according to STC ODA Procedures.
Responsibilities of the Certification Engineer include creating or revising certification plans, aircraft wiring diagrams, kit drawings, installation drawings, engineering orders, certification test procedures, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICAW), Airplane Flight Manual Supplements (AFMS), Type Inspection Approval (TIA) forms, Test Inspection Reports (TIRs), and Compliance Summaries.
The Certification Engineer will also manage the STC project by providing work estimates, tracking progress according to schedule, coordinating with the Program Manager and Project UM, supporting technical discussions with customers and internal Honeywell stakeholders. With UM delegation, the Certification Engineer will act in the role of Project UM on projects managed by other Certification Engineers while continuing to manage their own STC projects. This position reports directly to the Sr. Technical Manager of Certification in Redmond.

* YOU MUST HAVE * :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 3+ years experience in avionics installations, field service or customer support
- 1+ years working with FAA rules, orders and guidelines in the area of avionics products for aerospace applications
- Must be a U.S Citizen due to contractual requirements
- Knowledge of aircraft wiring and associated documentation is preferred
- knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, and data/voice recording avionics systems is an asset
- Experience with FAA STC projects and associated documentation is a plus
- Ability to managetoschedules and metrics is preferred
- Demonstrated communication skills with both internal and external customers as well as to upper leadershipisdesired
