Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of over 3,000 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Our team is looking for a Buyer to support Kuiper Direct and Indirect Procurement. The role is responsible for the placement, management and delivery of purchase orders to ensure material availability for production and engineering schedules. Other responsibilities for the Buyer include working with suppliers to ensure we are manufacturing the latest material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics ensuring compliance and supporting other business functions as required. The successful candidate will have bias for action and will be driven to meet all service level goals related to technical, quality, and delivery requirements. This role will work with multiple business functions in a team environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate across category teams, placing purchase orders (PO) and onboarding new suppliers.

  • Ensuring POs are updated on time to support schedule and/or inventory changes

  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.

  • Create and update processes to improve supplier performance and PO health

  • Provide back-up support for supply chain functions

  • Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources and alternative supply options.

  • Understand and comply with all FAR, DFAR, ITAR flow down requirements.

  • Understand and comply with all import/export requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ Year of experience in a supply chain organization

  • 2+ working with MRP tools

  • 1+ Year of experience in procurement

  • 1+ using data and metrics to determine and drive improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Procure to Pay process implementation experience

  • Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations

  • SQL, Quicksight, Tableau

  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and curious to learn new skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $55,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $120,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
