We are looking for an experienced Business Program Manager to join the Azure Edge and Platform organization. This organization is responsible for helping secure platform, services, and infrastructure supporting a variety of Microsoft offerings. Some of these include Windows, Surface, Azure, IoT, and our Adaptive Cloud technologies.

This role will report to the employee engagement Business Manager in the E+P Executive office. Employee engagement is a key pillar for our culture engagement as we work to create “Moments that Matter”. This role will be instrumental to ensure success for all virtual and in person events and support the logistics end to end. It is end to end event planning and logistics, as well as onsite support for the events. It will require collaboration across many stakeholders within and outside of the organization and it will represent the E+P Executive office.

Responsibilities

As a Business Program Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

Business Program Excellence and Execution

  • Works with others to evangelize programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers to gain buy in. Leverages data and performance metrics to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact, with minimal guidance.

  • Collaborates to define and execute on a landing and communication plan, such as the target audience(s) and communication strategy.

  • Maintain the rhythm of business (ROB) during plan execution to ensure participants and stakeholders are communicating and responding according to the necessary cadence.

Business Program Evaluation and Improvement

  • Collect and evaluate success criteria and performance metrics such as participation, engagement, customer feedback to monitor programs and ensure all activities align with business and program objectives.

  • Collaborates with others to conduct cost-benefit analyses to examine performance to value drivers.

  • Utilizes direction and strategy from leadership regarding business area of expertise in order to execute plans that shift current priorities to new organizational initiatives and objectives, and influences others to change behavior accordingly with minimal guidance.

  • Ensure buy in and adoption of the new program or change by others in the organization.

Business Program Management

  • Assists others who overlook a portfolio of projects including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs.

  • Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and holds them accountable for following the established schedule, risk mitigation plans and processes, with minimal guidance.

Business Program Planning and Design

  • Works with cross-functional stakeholders to design programs from initiation to delivery, with guidance.

  • Collaborates to produce collateral to incorporate stakeholder needs and ensure the business objectives are met.

  • Identifies internal opportunities to develop new programs and improve current ones, with minimal guidance.

  • Improve operations of existing programs by applying industry methodology, defining program issues, assessing various scenarios, and selecting the optimal scenario to resolve issues. Drives clarity in program issues and strives for simplification.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 2+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrate cross-team collaboration, with proven ability to work across organizations and reporting boundaries to get things done

Other Requirments

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient written and oral communication

  • Business background that could include operations, marketing, business management

  • Power user of SharePoint, OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and analytics tools (PowerBI, etc.) and communication technologies

  • Experienced in project management and has a track record of performing in high-performing management teams

  • Comfortable dealing with a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and engaging in cross-group collaboration

  • Strong, strategic problem solver who is comfortable working independently and thinking holistically about key issues

  • Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills with a focus on tangible, measurable results

  • Be a positive team member, demonstrating the best in partnership.

  • Influence, inform and partner with the different teams regarding business operations.

  • Adjust priorities, decisions, and actions to respond to multiple demands, unanticipated events, and new information daily.

  • Apply your knowledge of business operations to improve team organization and functions.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills through your experience institutionalizing them across a team through process or system changes.

  • Raise your hand when you have concerns over plans based on your business acumen.

  • Jump in to assist the team in whatever capacity may be required during crunch times.

  • Experience with Microsoft internal staffing tools a plus

  • Ability to rapidly gain/build trust and confidence of stakeholders

Business Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.
