The ISV & MISA (Microsoft Intelligent Security Association) Business Development team at Microsoft is responsible for identifying and executing partner based strategic business development opportunities which serve to accelerate time to market and grow the overall business. We are looking for the right person to join us and fill an exciting new role.

This Business Development Manager (BDM) role will be primarily focused on supporting our ISV related portfolio of products. We are looking for a dynamic individual, who is able to also cover some aspects of our security business as needed. If selected for the role, you will propose, structure and execute strategic partnerships and other inorganic engagements with ISV’s and partners within MISA and more - all with a focus on growing the Security business and driving stronger Azure and MW E5 adoption and usage.


The ISV & MISA Business Development Manager will be responsible for delivering in the following key areas:

Strategy Development - Collaborate with key stakeholders across Microsoft (engineering, BD, Product marketing, finance and legal) in the implementation of business, product and ecosystem strategy. Translating these strategies into execution focused partner engagement and integration plansm, and identifying partnerships that can grow and accelerate our security offerings. Maintain a focus on providing our customers with the most secure solutions in market and strengthening our position in Enterprise Security.

Transaction Execution – assist with identifying, evaluating and prioritizing specific ISV and MISA member opportunities and integrations in support of the broader Azure and Microsoft 365 E5 partner strategies, including developing the business case for a partnership (strategic rationales and economics) and assisting with structuring deal terms and negotiations. Communicate with internal stakeholders at all stages of the deal process to secure buy-in and approvals. Drive deals to closure while maintaining a willingness to walk away from deals which did not meet business objectives or introduced an unacceptable risk while adhering to core deal principles.

Deal Execution - Monitor deal performance and track efficacy relative to expectations post-close. Maintain ongoing relationship with partners to ensure compliance and commitments are fulfilled.

Internal Partnerships – Build strong relationships with our internal business partners in order to have highly functioning virtual deal teams which you will lead through the Strategy Development, Business Model and Stakeholder Approval process.

External Partnerships - Maintain a network of relationships across the industry, with a focus on ISV partner security market and start-ups. Leverage relationships in opportunity identification and transaction execution.

Industry Expertise - Develop expertise in Security & Compliance industry trends including competitive and market dynamics, product and technology trends, and start-ups.

3+ years of business experience in high-tech companies/industry.

Expertise in Business strategy and partner engagement.

Deep understanding of the competitive landscape in enterprise security technology.

Expertise in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex commercial deals and acquisitions is ‘nice to have’ but not a requirement.
