Create designs, prototypes and/or concepts for business productivity, gaming, entertainment, or other software or hardware applications. Leverage innovative techniques to ensure products and services are desirable, relevant, usable, personal, and feasible. Conceptualize and facilitate ideation sessions, storyboarding, and brainstorming to develop user scenarios and sketch early-stage mockups. Drive design from definition to ideation to delivery. Produce design briefs and support the production of information architecture diagrams, wireframes, interaction flows, low-fi prototypes, or other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs. Implement Microsoft visual design languages for production of designs. Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate user feedback and telemetry into design solutions. Create special effects, designs, or other visual images using industry design technologies that improve Microsoft product user experience or other world class creations like computer games. Telecommute work permitted less than 50% per week within the same geographic area as assigned Microsoft office location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Fine Art, Animation, Computer Design, Web Design, Interaction Design, Multimedia Art, Animation, Visual Arts or related field.
• Experience: Six (6) months of experience in visual arts.
• Specific Skills: This position also requires education or experience in: Graphic performance fundamentals for working within graphic budget; Editing HLSL, shader, and materials to enhance the visuals of a project; 3D modeling with software including Maya or Zbrush; Creating games from pre-production, concept, planning to final product; Developing tools to accelerate the content creation process; Developing pipelines for lighting to enhance artist productivity; and Providing key information to leadership for decision-making.

Pay Range and Benefits Information:  The offered base pay range for this specific position (TSKBY17329), in Redmond, WA, is $120,226 to $150,226.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
