Job Description

This is an application for heathers, vines, ground covers, perennials, ornamental grasses. Work duties include preparing soil and growth media, cultivating and otherwise participating in horticultural activities on acreage, in a nursery or in environmentally controlled structures such as a greenhouse or shed. Employees must have transportation to the job site. This is a job description for field grown production, harvest, culture and care of nursery grown products. You'll typically be exposed to Dust, Dirt, Heat, Cold, Fumes, Noise, Vibration and water. Physically expect to be Lifting, Pulling, Reaching, Manipulating/Grasping, Carrying, Pushing, Shoveling, Bending, Twisting, Climbing and Squatting.

All tasks in this job description constitute one job; the employer may assign workers to different tasks on any day or to multiple tasks during the same day. Employees must perform the assigned work, and may not perform duties not included herein or work in areas not assigned without the specific authorization of the manager or supervisor. There are general conditions of employment, general job specifications and individual requirements that are specific to each job duty:

1.Worker will perform any combination of the following duties concerned with preparing soil and growth media, cultivating and otherwise participating in horticultural activities under close supervision on acreage, in nursery or in environmentally controlled structure such as greenhouse and shed: 2.Hauls and spreads topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition land; digs, rakes and screens soil, and fills cold frames and hot beds to prepare them for planting; fills growing tanks with water; plants, sprays, weeds and waters plants, shrubs and trees. 3.Sows grass seed and plants plugs of sod and cuts, rolls, and stacks sod. 4.Traps and poisons pests such as moles, gophers, mice, etc. Plants shrubs and plants in containers. 5.Ties, bunches, wraps and packs flowers, plants, shrubs and trees to fill orders. 6.Moves containerized shrubs and trees using wheelbarrow; digs up shrubs and trees and wraps their roots with burlap

Frequency of Pay: Biweekly

Hourly: $19.82

 

The employer may offer overtime pay for more than 40 hours worked per week. Regular hourly pay is $19.82. Overtime is offered at $29.73per hour. Overtime hours are not guaranteed as it depends on various factors such as workload, deadlines, among others.

Monday 6hours -Tuesday 6hours-Wednesday 6hours-Thursday 6hours -- Friday 6hours-Saturday 5hours-Sunday 0 hours: 7:00am -- 2:30pm

 

35 hours a week

Prospective applicants need to have full-time work availability and be able to work at least 8 hours per day.

Employer will accept referrals until 04/23/2025

Period of Employment:

March 1, 2025 to June 15, 2025

Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.
