Job Summary
To perform repairs, overhauls and maintain District vehicles and equipment including but not limited to Gradalls, excavators, dozers, tractors, forklifts, semi-tractors, pickups and SUVs.
Duties & Responsibilities
To perform the job successfully each essential function of the job must be performed satisfactorily. The following essential functions are activities that, if not performed, would significantly and fundamentally alter the position.
- Perform routine maintenance on all District vehicles, such as but not limited to, replacing spark plugs and shock absorbers, adjusting clutches and brakes, check and balance wheels, checking for proper alignment
- Repair and/or overhauls of both gas and diesel engines
- Perform diversified electrical work on all District vehicles and equipment
- Repair hydraulic systems
- Light and heavy equipment repair
- Repair and/or overhaul standard and automatic transmissions
- Perform monthly and routine tune-ups and maintenance
- General troubleshooting techniques
- Road test vehicles and equipment
- Maintain proper maintenance records for all District vehicles and equipment
- Train for and follow safe work practices
- Maintain attendance
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
