Microsoft Corporation Data Center Program Manager - Business Operations in Quincy, Washington

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable to provide program governance, leadership, and direction for all projects at the campus level to ensure projects are planned and executed on budget and schedule​.

  • Be the liaison between the local data center team and the surrounding community.

  • Support the Data Center Project Manager’s with project estimation, budget management, ROI calculations, formulate project delivery strategies while establishing milestones and schedules​.

  • Maintain and report project status, monitor progress, and act as an escalation point ensuring achievement of intended outcomes.

  • Support the Campus Director with Field Employee communications including townhalls, organizing listening sessions, and local campus level communications.

  • Liaise with the Data Center Operational Efficiencies team to ensure campus level financial planning and performance reviews are conducted in accordance to the rhythm of business fiscal calendars and objectives. ​

  • Support the field operations leadership teams to operationalize all strategic initiatives consistently and effectively at the campus level. ​

  • Identify and manage scheduling conflicts working with stakeholders to negotiate implementation dates and schedules across IT, CE, and Facilities teams.

  • Execute the change management governance process at the Campus/Metro level that ties back to Global and Regional DC Operations Change Management standards.  

  • Manage the daily Change Management functions at the Campus/Metro level including maintaining and documenting change management procedures, stakeholder management, technical and business impact assessment.

  • Lead the daily Campus/Metro Change Review meetings with local team members and stakeholders .

  • Monitor to ensure only approved and validated changes are executed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 3+ year(s) Business Operations and deployment projects in large-scale environments experience

  • OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Effective Communication Skills : Both written and verbal communication skills are vital for effective interaction and clear conveying of information.

  • Organizational and Time-Management Skills : Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines efficiently.

  • Attention to Detail : Accuracy is critical in many office tasks, such as Metrics and document preparation.

  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking Skills : The ability to identify and resolve issues independently is highly valued.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Working effectively as part of a team and building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Customer Service/Stakeholder experience: Gather stakeholder impressions of services and programs, integrating this feedback into decision making. Allocate and align resources to optimize the stakeholder and partner experience.

  • Performance Goal and Standards Setting: Develop and communicate to realistic timelines via plans that consider potential obstacles and immediate + long-term consequences

  • Scheduling and Calendar Management: Experience in managing schedules, appointments, and travel arrangements.

Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.
