Custodian

Location: Quincy, WA

Pay: $20 per hour

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 3pm-11:30pm

Duties:

  • Keeps buildings and property in clean and orderly condition.

  • Performs routine maintenance activities.

  • Performs heavy cleaning duties.

  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors, gathers and empties trash and operates compactor.

  • Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.

  • Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment, cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.

  • Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions, follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners.

  • Follows procedures for the use of power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

  • Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture, shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.

  • Manages inventory of cleaning supplies, partners with vendors to maintain stock.

  • Remain compliant with corporate EH&S and GMP training, licensing and certification requirements.

Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems, responsible to manage and create WOs to resolve maintenance issues.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic math skills

  • Courses in shop, mechanics or industrial hygiene are beneficial. Certifications Preferred.

Required:

  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures for a manufacturing facility

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours, ability to work overhead, in tight spaces, and in extreme environments.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.

  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions

  • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs, climb ladders and work at heights

The preferred candidate will have all the above skills and experience plus

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a GMP, pharmaceutical or medical facility

  • Experience with light mechanical duties, i.e. replacing HVAC Filters, Replacing Light Bulbs, Removing and Installing Blinds, replacing water filters etc.

  • Ability to obtain OSHA / EH&S certification to operate safely a manlift.

  • Perform light painting and drywall repairs

  • Bilingual, ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

  • Knowledge and training in HAZMAT procedures and standards

  • Experience operating an industrial forklift, ability to maintain an operator’s license.
