Carlisle Interconnect Technologies Shipping Clerk in Puyallup, Washington

Job Summary The Shipping Clerk interacts with various internal and external customers throughout a workday. This position provides clerical support and backup responsibility within the shipping department as well as with other Carlisle Construction Materials Plants. The Shipping Clerk should be personable and detail-oriented to succeed in performing the daily and periodic expectations. Duties and Responsibilities: * Process directions for all shipments daily. * Contact customers regarding orders/shipments due. * Process all truck loads and customer picks up includes ensuring deliveries are posted and documents are created (packing list, bill of lading, customs invoice), assemble documents and ensure paperwork is accurate and filed correctly. * Prepare and distribute shipping documents to drivers. * Contact customers regarding orders/shipments due. * Maintain & have all paperwork ready for Dispatcher and Shipping Department. * Post goods issues for deliveries, create shipments, and run reports to monitor completion in SAP system. * Splitting trucks/material. * Communicating with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) via phone and email assisting with all requests and notifying of changes to shipments (backorders, truck full, etc.) and supply rate quotes. * Schedule appointments due for dispatching. * Monitor the office window and direct drivers to the correct location for loading or unloading. * Process FedEx and UPS outbound shipments. * Run delivery due list for customer pick-ups, small parcels, less-than-truckloads (LTL) and truckloads if time permits. * Distribute work assignments to warehouse personnel. * Assume the backup position for Logistics and Dispatch Clerk when necessary. * Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: * General knowledge of plant safety policies. * Knowledge of quality and standards for products. * Proficiently apply department rules and regulations. * Strong written and verbal communication. * Create and edit spreadsheets and prepare documents. * Perform mathematical computations rapidly and accurately. * Perform full data entry functions and proficiently utilize a computer and required software. * Understand the impact of distributing incorrect information within the department and to external contacts. * Understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and complete tasks quickly and independently. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, company, and external contacts. * Work the required hours of the position, including overtime and weekends when applicable to meet company and department workload.
