Fabrication South Puget Sound – Composite Manufacturing Center is seeking an Experienced Numerical Control Programmer - Quality Assurance to join the Quality Team in Puyallup, WA. This role will primarily be focused on generating programs using GD&T Fundamentals and CATIA V5 to produce parts for performing dimensional inspections of fabricated parts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in numerous tasks related to numerical controlled manufacturing, including research and data collection to support cross functional teams, establishing technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility and planning the integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment.

  • Develops, revises and verifies Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry.

  • Provides machine operator instructions and documentation for automated or numerically controlled equipment per established process.

  • Uses GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) ASME Y14.5 and engineering drawings to develop and improve inspection or test techniques. Creates/writes PSDMIS / SA programs to validate equipment or determine product acceptance. Sets up and calibrates specialized test or measurement equipment. Develops procedures for setting up and calibrating test equipment. Performs tests or inspections and collects data for evaluation of process equipment, software, solutions, products or materials Analyzes test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity or assists with corrective action recommendations. Documents and communicates test, analysis or measurement results to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

  • Experience using PCDMIS, Spatial Analyzer and MBD (Model Base Definitions) to provide numerical control, machining and programming. Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility. Plans, creates, verifies and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies for departmental work. Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Puyallup, Washington.

Work Authorization:

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1 or more years of CATIA V5 to produce parts.

  • 1 or more years of GD&T Fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years of knowledge in creating Mylars.

  • 3 or more years of PCDMIS to measure machined parts.

  • 3 or more years of Spatial Analyzer (SA) for Laser Trackers and Romer Arms.

  • 3 or more related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience .

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

  • Mid- Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1-year related work experience, 5 years related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Associate (Level 2): $72,250 – $97,750

Mid-Level (Level 3): $90,950 – $123,050
