Job Description

Overview

The Director Warehouse Operations is responsible for providing overall leadership for all aspects of an assigned facility to include safety, warehousing, transportation, inventory, loss prevention, fleet, finance, and administration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization

  • Review financial statements and data and utilize data to improve profitability

  • Prepare and control operational budgets

  • Control total inventory management by ensuring the compliance of receiving and inventory control procedures; Develop/recommend alterations to procedures and best practices as warranted

  • Plan effective strategies for the financial wellbeing of the company

  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals

  • Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output

  • Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures

  • Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing, and distribution of goods

  • Monitor warehouse performance and implement improvements

  • Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity

  • Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery

  • Provide technical support where necessary

  • Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services

  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity

  • Implement and manage operational plans

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree and 10+ years of experience or equivalent education and related operations experience including warehousing, inventory, customer service, distribution, and transportation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws

  • Experience in wholesale or operational management or other related industries

  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse management system, i.e. WMI/Sapphire/ExactaBev/SAP or similar system

  • Demonstrated Coach/Team leadership style

  • 5 plus years leading in a collective bargaining agreement environment

  • PIT certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships

  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills

  • Advanced degree in Operations Management preferred

  • CDL Class A or B preferred

  • Smith System Certified preferred

  • OSHA 30 certified preferred

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
