The Early Childhood Specialist will provide a stimulating and developmentally appropriate educational environment which encourages cognitive, social, emotional and adaptive skills. This position involves monitoring and supervising children, leading activities, assisting staff in maintaining a safe and positive environment, tracking and reporting children’s progress and development, meeting with parents and other staff members and maintaining open and cooperative communication.*Position is open until filled.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Classroom Supervision and Personal Interactions:Provide a safe and clean environment to ensure children’s safety. Identify potential risks and hazards. Engage children in daily educational activities as well as schedules and routines such as hygiene (e.g. washing hands), lunch/snacks, naps, free time, field trips and transitioning between classroom and playground. Implement activities that promote the development of social, creative, motor, language and physical skills. Maintain awareness of children and staff in the classroom to ensure legal ratios are upheld. Ensure that each child is given appropriate levels of individual attention and guidance.
