Available Title(s): 323J-YNCSNPS - Research Technologist 3 Business Title: Research Technologist 3, School of the Environment, Vancouver Campus Employee Type: Classified Position Details: Research Technologist 3, School of the Environment, Vancouver Campus The School of Environment is looking for a chemist for Dr. Marc Kramer's laboratory research. Summary of Duties: The Research Technician 3 is under general direction to conduct scientific experiments, soil chemical extraction procedures, instrumentation QC/QA maintenance, verification and validation as well as optimization of analytical chemistry techniques. Maintain a variety of scientific instruments. Develop end-to-end incoming and outgoing sample processing and verification and validation procedures on all existing and newly emerging techniques. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of technology or science and two years experience as a Research Technologist, or equivalent; OR an advanced Degree in an appropriate scientific field; OR equivalent education/experience. • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3and departmental driving standards. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience running analytic instrumentation (ICP, TOC/TON, Stable Isotopes, spectroscopy). • Experience performing soil extraction procedures. • Familiarity with QC/QA procedures and analytical chemistry benchmark metric indices and implementation. Monthly Salary: $3,811 to $4,987 Step A-L, Range R-44. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
