Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Purchasing Intern in Pullman, Washington

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detailed individual for our Purchasing Intern position. If you are looking for an opportunity to work on various data entry and purchasing related projects to improve material management with supplier partners, then this position is for you!

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer in our Pullman, WA location.

As an Purchasing Intern, a typical day might include the following:

  • Assisting the purchasing team with the procurement of components, materials, supplies and equipment for factory operation, consistent with quality and delivery expectations.

  • Assisting in the management of open purchase orders, including regular professional communication with SEL’s suppliers.

  • Providing support for the assurance of on time delivery of procured material by assisting in the management of purchase order confirmations, expedites and past due purchase orders.

  • Assisting the purchasing team with department objectives and projects.

  • Providing support for the issue and review of quotes and bids.

  • Following and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Understanding. Creating. Simplifying.

This job might be for you if:

  • You are pursuing Bachelor's degree in Business or Operations Management.

  • You have an understanding of electronics technology, manufacturing methods, and total quality processes.

  • You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • You are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • You are able to work cooperatively in a team environment

  • You have background check results satisfactory to SEL and negative drug test result(s).

Pay Range Data

($16.30 - 21.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate).
