The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Program Assistant for an in-person, front-facing role to support the myWSU student records system. You will perform specialized technical and clerical duties, including complex projects related to myWSU and the Reinstatement program. Under general supervision, you will provide students, faculty, staff, program participants, and the public with information and interpretation of policies and activities related to academic advising, program plan and advisor changes, major and minor admin updates, academic tutoring, and academic reinstatement. Your responsibilities will include creating written communications, maintaining electronic and manual record-keeping systems, and managing database files related to program operations. Additionally, you will assist with front desk operations, such as appointment scheduling, responding to phone and email inquiries, processing mail, and greeting and directing department clientele to appropriate services. This role requires strong front-line and reception communication skills, making you an essential part of our team.
Required Qualifications:
• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience
• Previous experience with customer service, demonstrating positive interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and complete assignments with frequent interruptions.
