Professional Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Professional Education Program Coordinator is a pivotal role responsible for managing the seamless coordination of professional and continuing education programs for the College of Nursing. This position encompasses the full life cycle of educational offerings, from receiving faculty proposals to obtaining American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) course approval, coordinating venues (both in-person and online), marketing courses and certifications, processing participant applications and payments, managing budgets, tracking attendance and course completion, issuing CE certificates, and facilitating faculty payments (external to the WSU payroll system). In this role, you will provide exceptional service to prospective and enrolled students, fostering positive relationships with faculty and community partners involved in, creating, or benefiting from professional development and continuing education programs. Current programs under your management include the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certification, the RN (Registered Nurse) refresher course, and certification as a school nurse. You will also play a crucial role in supporting and enabling future continuing education courses. In addition, some time will be allocated to this position to provide confidential administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning. Experiential learning includes clinical onsite trainings and simulations on campus using standardized patients (actors). Examples of duties include liaising between the Assistant Dean and faculty/staff, organizing and supporting the annual review process, and managing purchase requests and travel processes. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple programs simultaneously. Maintaining an accurate digital record-keeping database is essential to ensure the smooth operation and success of these educational offerings. This position is not only about administrative excellence but also about contributing to the ongoing professional growth and development of nursing professionals, ultimately enhancing the quality of care within our communities across Washington State. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additional Requirements: • Three years of experience should be directly related to the majority of duties and responsibilities specified. For example, coordinating, developing or implementing professional development/training programs, particularly in a health professional or related industry. • Intermediate computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and Outlook. • Strong customer service orientation and experience. • Must possess excellent organization skills. • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication. • Ability to use and learn multiple software programs and online systems. • Demonstrated skills in the areas of customer service; organization and attention to detail. • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups.
