Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Product Engineer in Pullman, Washington

As a Product Engineer in Research and Development, you’ll help customer apply SEL protection and control devices, solve application challenges and offer customers unmatched value in our products and services.

As a Product Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

  • Further develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.

  • Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.

  • Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.

  • Provide power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.

  • Assist in writing and reviewing innovative power system protection solutions to present at technical meetings and conferences.

    This job might be for you if you have:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Typically 2+ years experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.

  • Excellent technical training skills.

  • Working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility, industrial plant.

  • Working knowledge of SEL products.

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Product Engineer: $79,400 - $124,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
