Available Title(s): 619F-YNCSNPS - Painter Business Title: Painter Employee Type: Classified Position Details: Summary of Duties: This position performs semi-skilled and sub journey work in the maintenance, repair, remodeling, alterations and construction of buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment. Perform floor laying and floor covering work. Coordinate and work with other trades and crafts in support of new or remodel construction. Lead apprentices or helpers as assigned. Operate motor vehicles as required. Required Qualifications: • Journey-level standing as a painter as attested by: completion of a recognized apprenticeship OR full journey-level status in Painters' Union OR four years of experience in State service as full-time helper to a journey-level Painter. OR equivalent education/experience. • Ability to respond to an emergency outside normal business hours. • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/ and departmental driving standards. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in the application and removal of a variety of decorative and functional coverings to floors, walls, and countertops, including carpet, base, tile and grout, sheet vinyl and vinyl planking. • Experience working with other trades and entities.
