Professional Position Details: The Opportunity: Provide culturally informed and affirming brief, focused, individual counseling, group therapy and workshops, initial consultations, and crisis assessment and intervention to a diverse student population. Primarily provide clinical work, outreach, and liaison relationships with students from marginalized communities including Black/African American, Latinx, Undocumented, Indigenous/First Nations, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, and other students of color. Assess the mental health needs of students from historically excluded groups and develop innovative services to serve these specific mental health needs. Bring expertise and experience in working with students from marginalized communities to role as a trainer and clinical supervisor in a training program that includes practicum counselors, an American Psychological Association-accredited doctoral internship, and post-doctoral psychology residents. Provide outreach presentations and activities tailored to the specific mental health needs of students from historically excluded groups. Build effective, collaborative relationships with offices and colleagues on campus dedicated to supporting marginalized students. Provide professional consultation grounded in multicultural expertise and experience to WSU faculty, staff, and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges in order to enhance an inclusive campus climate for student success. This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement. Monthly Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications Therapist: $5,658 - $7,595 Psychologist: $5,976 - $7,899 In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
