Summary of Duties:

 

As the Manager of Gift Accounting, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing gift processing operations of the WSU Foundation. You will be comprising private gifts and pledges to the University and WSU Foundation for an annual average of $200M in donations during WSU's $2B campaign. As the Manager, you will lead and supervise 5 - 7 employees and be responsible for unit operations. This includes ensuring the accuracy of work completed, defining scope of work and duties for assigned staff, as well as training and developing staff. Additionally, you will promote and emphasize a customer service culture within gift processing, oversee and monitor all gift record and processing functions for accuracy and timeliness, and provide gift information and reports. In this role, you will interpret and explains IRS and university gift regulations and policies and use independent judgment to make decisions and act as a resource and liaison between Advancement Services units, WSU Foundation, WSU staff, and WSU colleges and units to improve processes, create documentation, answer inquiries, provide feedback, and research policies and information. You will participate in planning and managing meetings with staff at all levels in the WSU Foundation, and WSU colleges and units.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

• At least three (3) years of full-time experience working in a higher education, fundraising, processing role; OR equivalent education/experience.

 

• Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.

 

• Strong analytical and typing skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Cash handling and extensive experience working in a fundraising environment with alumni/donor records, IRS rules, and CASE guidelines.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
