Description
We are currently seeking Lead Utility Forester-Arborist to support hazard tree assessments and other vegetation management planning projects in Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho
As a Lead Utility Forester-Arborist your office is the great outdoors! We keep the lights on anywhere there is a power line - whether in the city, the rural countryside, or deep in the remote forest. As an ArborMetrics Lead Utility Forester-Arborist, you will keep communities informed about the trees and power lines while ensuring safe delivery of their power.
Job Type: Full Time & Seasonal
Locations: Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Pullman-Moscow, Lewiston/Clarkston, and other surrounding areas
Travel: Travel during the work week will be required during parts of the year
Pay:
$33-$43 (DOE & Credentials).
Up to 60-hour work week (up to 20 hours of OT/week), during parts of the year.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The worker is responsible for coordinating and assisting with day-to-day operations of other field employees. Includes: Tracking assignment progress, responding to questions, performing field visits, and tracking completion timelines.
Worker is responsible for training new workers
Worker is responsible for auditing work for Q/A and Q/C, providing necessary corrective actions, and performing necessary follow-up
Worker is responsible for responding to Client needs and provide ongoing communication as needed
Exhibits experience and skills required to negotiate complaint resolutions
Inspect power line rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities based on client specifications
Maintenance planning activities including machine work, herbicide application, capital projects, and unplanned response work. Worker completes plans thoroughly and with a high level of accuracy.
Perform tree health assessments – Level 1 and Level 2, Tree Risk Assessment
Notify property owners of assessment being performed, when necessary.
Inform property owners of required vegetation management work and obtain necessary permissions
Research and document property ownership for owner notifications
Document and record information with mobile device using GIS software
Operate with the highest level of personal and public safety.
Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the general public. Includes responding to emails/phone calls promptly
Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
12+ Months experience in Utility Vegetation Management
Must have solid tree identification skills and the ability to read maps.
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
Must havebasic computer skills.
WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Forestry, Environmental Science or related field preferred.
Previous Forester/Arboriculture/Tree Care working experience.
ISA, TRAQ, TCSP, or other VM related certifications.
