Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories HR Business Partner in Pullman, Washington

At S chweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), w e are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team as an HR Generalist ! In this role, you will coach employees and supervisors on various personnel topics, handle employee relations issues, manage initiatives/projects to improve processes and procedures, recruit and hire the best employee-owners, and provide exceptional customer service to those you support.

The ideal candidate will have some exposure to Human Resources or related department within a corporate environment, with experience in performance management, coaching, disciplinary processes, hiring/recruiting, compensation, benefits, and strategic HR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Attract, retain, and support valued employees.2. Support our leaders in people management activities.3. Contribute and support the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems.4. Develop, implement, and support SEL processes and programs as they apply to employee relations, engagement, compensation, benefits, safety, performance, and hiring.5. Establish and maintain accurate records and reports.6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.7. Understand. Create. Simplify.8. Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsB.A. or B.S. degree in Human Resources or related business field10+ years' of related experienceDemonstrated knowledge of employment law and legal hiring practices and proceduresExcellent listening, interviewing, facilitating, negotiating and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, accepting ownership for assigned responsibilitiesAbility to identify organizational needs and deliver solutionsAbility to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and data.Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)Preferred QualificationsProfessional certification in related field
