Summary of Duties:

 

Under general supervision, perform a variety of skilled gardening duties on WSU grounds to maintain safe, clean and attractive grounds on the Pullman Campus.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Ability to do required work, and one year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, gardening, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.

 

• One year experience plus knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures and techniques, plant material identification and cultural needs, and current horticultural practices.

 

• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.

 

• Must have, or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire a current Public Pesticide Applicators license.

 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary.

 

• Ability to demonstrate and use a variety of hand and motorized tools such as; pruners, loppers, shovels, rakes, hoes, mowers, blowers, edgers, litter picker, chain saw, trimmers, string trimmers and sprayers.
