Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for performing marketing and promotional work including promoting activities and programs; coordinating, designing and overseeing web and listserv layouts; preparing brochures, press releases and related promotional and educational materials; assisting in facilitating and developing web content; and regularly communicating with internal and external constituencies. This position also entails performing and/or overseeing a variety of administrative and fiscal activities such as budget administration relative to sub-award invoicing processes and control, and specialized record keeping.
The Grant and Marketing Communications Coordinator, coordinates activities involved in the administration of the Western Extension Risk Management Education Center's (WERMEC) competitive grants program in the 13 western states; and regularly communicates with internal and external constituencies, including consulting and interviewing clients to develop program specific materials and developing content for, and maintaining the Center's website. The Grant and Communication Coordinator administers the Center's communication plan including designing, drafting and editing Center specific informational and/or promotional materials and contributes to the national Extension Risk Management Education (ERME) communications plan to develop national ERME program materials . Job duties include performing and/or overseeing a variety of administrative, fiscal and planning activities, such as budget administration and control, specialized record keeping, communications development and website management. Other responsibilities include gathering specified information for projects and tasks using independent judgment, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience coordinating graphic design, and web programming experience for regional and national audience outreach
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards.
• Ability to travel within targeted counties.
• Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the agricultural industry -Experience planning, writing, and formatting email marketing and outreach, knowledge of USDA agencies and programs
• Demonstrated ability to
