Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Program Director is responsible for direction, management and oversight of the US Department of Education (USDE), Harvest of Hope (HOH) GEAR UP federal grants assigned to WSU Tri-Cities and assigned administrative functions. Responsibilities include: leadership, management, and administration of daily operations; direct supervision of local site managers and oversight of the Regional Managers that supervise site managers in outlying areas; ?scal and budgetary management; accountability of risk management; communicating University and program policy and regulations; and representing the University and GEAR UP program to internal and external constituents. Under the oversight of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Program Director is responsible for directing or controlling program operations and accountable for the allocation of resources and program results; establishes and implements short-and long-range organizational goals and objectives in collaboration with the PI. Will provide leadership, implement programming and services, and provide operational supervision and guidance of programs at assigned school districts sites. The person in this position acts as administrative contact, often on complex and con?dential issues, for internal and external constituencies, such as with other units of WSU and with other local, state, and federal o?ces and involved parties. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, and exercises independent judgement in interpreting and applying WSU and Department of Education policies and procedures. This position is responsible for representing the University and GEAR UP program to internal and external constituents. Required Qualifications: • Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field which has included at least two (2) years of management experience. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people. • Pro?ciency in the use of computers and MS O?ce software programs. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in accounting, business, or a related ?eld is preferred. Experience with WSU budget, accounting and personnel processes. • Demonstrated strong communications, team building, problem-solving skills and proven ability to work independently.
