The Opportunity

 

University Advancement is recruiting for an open rank Fiscal Support position at the Fiscal Technician 3 or Fiscal Specialist 1 level depending on qualifications of the successful candidate.

 

In this Fiscal Support role, you will be responsible for recording all deposits from the WSU Foundation (WSUF), as well as executing distributions for all deposits in holding accounts. You will also remote deposit all check transactions and receive and distribute all donations that have been remote deposited from other system campuses. You will be responsible for verifying funds deposited, and will coordinate with stakeholders within WSUF and the Bursar's Office to make corrections. In addition, you will provide administrative, operational, and financial support, including serving as backup for other members of the WSUF Advancement Financial Services team on a variety of duties related to financial transactions and gift processing activities.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Fiscal Technician 3:

 

• High school diploma, or GED certificate AND fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping AND two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software; An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

 

• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers and/or data.

 

• Experience entering data into spreadsheets, a database or enterprise system.

 

• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

 

Fiscal Specialist 1:

 

• Three (3) years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

 

• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers and/or data.

 

• Experience entering data into spreadsheets, a database or enterprise system.

 

• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

 

• Ability to independently manage workload, while also demonstrating collegiality and teamwork.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Fiscal Technician 3:

 

• Ability to independently manage workload, while also demonstrating collegiality and teamwork.

 

• Experience working in higher education or fundraising.

 

• Experience with Workday.

 

• Experience working with donor records.

 

Fiscal Specialist 1:

 

• Experience working in higher education or fundraising.
