Summary of Duties: The Fiscal Analyst 1 is responsible for the fiscal accounting, reconciliation and analysis of the private donor scholarship and alternative/private loan process. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that scholarship and alternative/private loan receipts are processed timely, scholarship awards comply with donor restrictions, payment received is reconciled with awards given, and all discrepancies are researched and resolved. This position serves as the primary liaison between students, donors and the University regarding outside scholarships, and will also be responsible to return funds to donors as either directed by the Student/Donor or Student Financial Services (SFS) partners. The incumbent is also responsible for reviewing student refunds for compliance with Federal regulations and that errors are corrected prior to issuance and for reviewing rejected direct deposit refunds, processing rejected direct deposit refunds in a timely manner, including verification of amounts owed, method of original payments and amount to be refunded. This position also assists with other task such as setting up TouchNet uStores/uPay Sites and backing up our FLEX communications call center when assigned an/or when call volumes are high. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting; OR equivalent education/experience. • Proficiency level mid to expert with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with the WSU mainframe accounting systems. • Accounting experience that involves balancing large dollar accounts with large numbers of transactions. • Experience working in a busy office environment that requires multi-tasking.
