The Opportunity:

 

As the Financial Education Coordinator, your responsibilities include working alongside the Director to provide expertise and support; developing and executing financial education programming; addressing financial wellness needs for underrepresented populations, including WSU SSS and Upward Bound programs; administration of Washington State Opportunity Scholars Program; functioning as a liaison with University faculty, supervisors, and internal and external constituents; monitoring and evaluating student services and operational effectiveness, and; supervising a team of undergraduate student workers providing critical services. You are charged with carrying out the mission and strategic plan of the organization through effective and efficient coordination of operations, the development of opportunities, stakeholder relations, and strategic initiatives.

 

50% Financial Education Programming

 

• Provide senior-level financial education coaching and programming, utilizing specific knowledge of personal finance and navigating college expenses.

 

• Independently provide one-on-one financial coaching focused on individual needs and priorities.

 

• Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion in assessing individual needs of students and developing plan of action. Make referrals for students to other support programs when necessary

 

• Collaborate and provide leadership in the development, planning, and implementation of financial education programming.

 

• Assist in establishing and implementing methods for measuring engagement and efficacy in financial education programming.

 

35% Participate in Program Administration and oversight

 

• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external campus partners, community groups; etc. to facilitate communications and cooperative efforts which ensure optimal programs and process for students.

 

• Develop, maintain, and improve the daily operations and goals of the programs.

 

• Analyze programs outcomes to determine program effectiveness and opportunity.

 

• Assist Director with peer mentoring services, including recruitment, development, and management of student peer advisors.

 

• Assist in department policy and procedure review and embracing promising practices and

 

• initiatives in improving the student experience.

 

• Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures in collaboration with department leaders.

 

• Work with Director to develop, improve, and maintain policy program(s) manual(s) and ensure that all staff involved are knowledgeable about current policies and procedures through oversight and training.

 

• Assist with development of reports, program materials, status, and outcomes annually as requested.

 

10% Develop & Implement Program Recruitment & Admissions

 

• Lead the development of recruitment and admissions strategies, goals, and objectives.

 

• Collaborate with Director, Student Financial Services and OAE partners, to provide regular outreach and program promotion, including emails, news releases, flyers
