Summary of Duties:

 

Represent the Vancouver Office of Student Financial Services by interpreting and communicating complex financial aid, waiver and scholarship information to prospective undergraduate students and their families.

 

Apply a case management model to providing individual counsel and advice to students and/or parents related to applying for, receiving and utilizing financial aid and scholarships. This position will have a specific focus on increasing yield and addressing melt of admitted and confirmed students.

 

Develop and present informational financial aid sessions for various recruitment efforts including instant decision days, admitted student celebrations and our local College Bound eligible K-12 students.

 

Partner with Admissions to provide financial aid counseling and Spanish translation to targeted populations and high schools.

 

This position requires a thorough knowledge of federal financial aid policies related to Title IV as well as University policies and procedures and a solid understanding of campus resources.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

Bilingual (Spanish and English).

 

Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends/evenings.

 

Experience presenting to large audiences of people and influencers, both in person and virtually, in public and private settings.

 

Event planning experience.

 

Experience with financial aid, admissions, and/or student counseling.

 

Must have, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience working with diverse populations such as nontraditional, first generations, low income and historically underrepresented populations).

 

Enrollment Management and/or Student Affairs experience.

 

Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication.

 

Peoplesoft experience.
