Summary of Duties:

 

This Finance/Budget Manager will provide fiscal coordination and oversee the day-to-day administrative actions for ASWSU, SEB, the Student Media Office, Center for Civic Engagement, the office of Student Involvement as designated by the supervisor and Executive Director of Student Involvement. Additionally, this position will be responsible for supervision and oversight, for one Fiscal Technician, two Fiscal Specialists, one Fiscal Analyst 3 and the administrative functions for the Center for Civic Engagement and Student Media Office. Responsibilities will include assisting in the overall management of budgetary, fiscal and administrative operations. Also, coordinating routine maintenance of accounting records, personnel records and other fiscal matters.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

• Experience working with complex budget/accounting processes.

 

• Demonstrated experience utilizing and developing financial templates and databases in business software applications.

 

• Experience in various financial activities such as purchasing, travel, personnel, cost analysis and budget planning.

 

• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential subjects in a highly professional and non-confrontational manner.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Demonstrated ability to understand, value, and promote diversity.

 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint).

 

• Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures.

 

• Familiarity with higher education or state agency financial policies and procedures; Workday or other forecasting software.

 

• More than one year of experience managing day-to-day administrative and fiscal needs and activities in a fast paced, complex environment.

 

• Ability to independently manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize multiple tasks.

 

• Ability to work with individuals at all levels of an organization.

 

• Demonstrated skills in the operation of office machines and the use of computer software including spreadsheets, word processing. database functions, and WEB page development.
