Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Extension Forestry Coordinator, Eastern WA provides program development, coordination, and outreach to private forestland owners and managers, educators, and community stakeholders in eastern Washington. Responsibilities include program development; implementation and evaluation of traditional and online Extension programs; event management; data entry, analysis, and management; providing assistance with research projects; teaching at workshops and webinars; and on-site and off-site consultations with landowners. This recruitment will be used to fill an Eastern WA location. This position is available for remote work. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within targeted counties. • While using a private or WSU-owned vehicle for official business, must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.30.020https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.30.020 and https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.29.090https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.29.090). • Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements. • Employment is contingent upon passing a background screening. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in forestry or natural resources related field • Experience with forestry outreach and education • Experience coordinating and delivering organized educational forestry events • Experience communicating with diverse audiences about natural resource management • GIS, mapping applications (including story maps), data management, and distance delivery proficiency • Knowledge of Pacific Northwest forest ecosystems. • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field. • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively, with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience, both orally and in writing. • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Workday. • Experience in higher education, local or state agency, or equivalent.
