Executive Assistant Available Title(s): 1123-NN_ADMINPRO - Assistant To Business Title: Executive Assistant Employee Type: Admin. Professional Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Executive Assistant independently provides comprehensive and confidential executive administrative support to the Vice President and Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications within the University Marketing and Communications unit. Acts on behalf of the Vice President and Assistant Vice President as directed. Serves as the primary point of contact for both internal and external constituencies. Is responsible for fiscal and operational duties including authorizing and monitoring the expenditure of funds, preparing budget projections, and reviewing and monitoring the operational budget for the Vice President\'s office, including travel expenditures. Navigates, prioritizes, and directs media inquiries in support of the Vice President\'s role as university spokesperson. Handles information of a highly confidential nature. Discretion must be exercised at all times. Required Qualifications: • Positions require a Bachelor\'s degree in business administration or other relevant field AND five (5) years of managing administrative support experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Demonstrated organization skills. • Demonstrated skill in attention to detail. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information related to the University and its employees. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in a higher education or other public setting. • Experience working with and supporting a high-level executive. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. • Experience with WSU-specific systems such as Workday, Business Objects, Balances, AIS, DEPPS and Payroll, SCBAIMS, PAPR, CARS, PERMS and OPDRS. • Experience with WSU Policies and Procedures including: WSU Travel, purchasing cards, WSU\'s hiring process, Leave/Time Reports and other HRS functions.
