Available Title(s): 111B-YNCSNPS - Events Coordinator 2 Business Title: Events Coordinator 2 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: The Opportunity: This is a hybrid position, predominantly teleworking with the finalist required to live within reasonable driving distance of either Pullman, WA or Puyallup, WA. https://profed.wsu.edu/conference-management/https://profed.wsu.edu/conference-management/ holds offices in Puyallup, WA (36 miles outside of Seattle) and Pullman, WA (on the east side of the state), working together to lead the region in event management. We partner with federal and state agencies, non-profits, and university colleagues to deliver exceptional event experiences for clients and attendees. This position can work at one of the two locations. As the Events Coordinator, you will perform work using knowledge and experience specific to marketing, development, and delivery of events and conferences. In consultation with your supervisor and conference leads, you will develop and manage communication messages for participants and potential participants using eBlast software, various social media platforms, website development and registration software, and paper-based communication delivery methods. You will also advise program participants, leaders, students, and/or the public regarding program content, learning activities, and terms and conditions related to the event or conference to ensure they are being complied with. In this role, you will coordinate, schedule, and monitor program delivery logistics; implement these programs in the most efficient, cost-effective, and professional manner possible; and also complete multiple team and independent projects on time in a fast-paced environment with professionalism. Required Qualifications: • High school graduation or equivalent and three (3) years of work experience involving public contact such as secretarial, sales promotion, setting up conferences, public information, or in the hospitality industry; OR equivalent education/experience. • Demonstrated experience successfully completing multiple team and independent projects according to schedule. • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism while meeting client expectations of fast turnaround times in preparation of events and while onsite. • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. • Position requires occasional evening and/or weekend work to support conference and/or event needs. • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards. • As a hybrid telework position, employee must provide own high-speed internet capable of handling work needs while teleworking. Preferred Qualifications: • Event management experience which could include logistics planning, budget development, or working with clients and the public. • Experience composing publicity copy, such as email blasts, announcements, website copy, or social media publicity posts. Telework/Hybrid/Remote positions will require signing a telework agreement. Minimum technical requirements include an internet bandwidth of 4.0 Mbps for upload and download. WSU will provide other technical equipment determined necessary for telework positions.
