Position Details:

 

The Opportunity:

 

As the Employer Connections Coordinator, you will coordinate events and activities that connect students with industry professionals, including coordinating employer recruitment visits, career fairs, networking events, and professional development events. You will advise and schedule employers and industry professionals seeking to recruit, hire, and network with Carson College of Business (CCB) students. In addition to coordinating the logistics for recruiting visits and events, you will also work closely with Career Consultants, faculty, and club advisors to schedule industry professionals as guest speakers in classes or club meetings. This includes being a liaison that assists employers in connecting with business students at all WSU campuses. You will also compile data on recruiting activities and employment outcomes (internship & job hires) for the Carson Center annual report.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty (in program/event coordination, public relations/communications, community relations, and/or providing support for student service programs) OR equivalent education/experience.

 

• Proven history of providing exemplary customer service.

 

• Demonstrated strong organizational and time-management skills.

 

• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience and experience writing professional business communications.

 

• Experience effectively communicating with a variety of constituents at different levels.

 

• Demonstrated strong technical skills, with extensive work experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

 

• Demonstrated ability to professionally represent the department and institution at recruiting and networking events.

 

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team and individual setting.

 

• Ability and willingness to work weekends, and after regular business hours.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree.

 

• Experience working with recruitment databases (i.e. NACELink, Handshake, CSO) and other internet resources for career development.

 

• Experience with University or HR recruiting.

 

• Extensive experience planning events, conferences, career fairs, workshops, etc.

 

• Demonstrated ability to quickly and independently learn new technologies.

Monthly Salary: $3,477 to $4,632 | Range 40 (Steps A to M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
