Available Title(s): 197K-YNCSNPS - Communications Consultant 3 Business Title: Communications Consultant 3 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: The Opportunity: The Tribal Liaison for Special Projects serves as a key communications and engagement specialist, working closely with the Vice Provost for Native American Relations and Programs and Tribal Liaison, to strengthen relationships between Washington State University and tribal nations. You will coordinate special projects that advance tribal initiatives, provides strategic communication support, and ensures effective collaboration between internal stakeholders and external tribal delegates. You will work independently and under general direction, leading and coordinating activities that enhance tribal partnerships, facilitate outreach, and support policy and program implementation. You will also be responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and carry out informational and/or public relations activities. You will determine the need and most appropriate methods and techniques to publicize and promote programs, develop and implement changes for program effectiveness, and resolve complex issues or problems. • Assist in the development and wording of the mechanism(s) (SOW) to transfer funding from WSU Extension to the Tribes in the Washington area whom choose to participate in developing Broadband Action and Digital Equity Plans to be submitted in fulfillment of funding. • Promote the development of Broadband Action and Digital Equity Plans to the 29 Federally Recognized Tribes in the Washington area. • Shephard the SOW process for the Tribes choosing to participate in the development of Broadband Action and Digital Equity Plans • Provide linkage to resources of the WSU Extension Broadband Project for Tribes participating. • Provide "check-ins" to participating Tribes to assure progress in the development Broadband Action and Digital Equity Plans • Monitor progress and help shepherd resources needed to allow fulfillment of Tribal obligations under SOW and submittal of final plans. Note: Position Location: WSU Pullman Campus with Remote/Hybrid Option as Agreed Upon with Supervisor. Additional Information: This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $4,517 to $6,077 | Range 51 Steps A-M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=357-28. In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
