Position Details:

 

The Opportunity:

 

As a part of the Student Engagement & Career Development team, you will support student development and career readiness by educating students and coaching them on strategies for attaining career goals through the https://business.wsu.edu/next-carson-coug/carson-career-amplifier-program/, a co-curricular requirement for all undergraduate business students. In alignment with the Amplifier program, you will provide individual and group coaching, and create/deliver engaging workshops and programs. You will work on a team to ensure Suitable, an engagement tracking platform, is accurate and timely, provide administrative support for Amplifier events/programs, assess student learning, and develop strategic communications to students.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

 

• Past work experience analyzing, evaluating, using professional judgment and/or applying a comprehensive depth of knowledge of student issues.

 

• Professional work experience in advising or mentoring college students.

 

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively, with attention to detail, being organized, and multi-tasking to meet deadlines.

 

• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Strong technical experience, including past experience working in Suitable, myWSU, and Handshake.

 

• Work experience that demonstrates strong public speaking skills, and the development and delivery of engaging and informative workshops or trainings.

 

• Certification as a Career Development Facilitator, NACE Career Coach, MBTI certification, or other certifications in career assessment/development.

 

• Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and leadership, including the ability to work independently.

 

• Previous experience working in a higher education institution with diverse students, faculty/staff, and employers.

 

• Familiarity with Washington State University academic rules and regulations.
