Position Details:

 

Summary of Duties:

 

The Assistant To serves as the confidential assistant to the Associate Dean of Student Success and Academic Programs in the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS), ensuring seamless administrative support and operational efficiency. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of University and College policies and procedures related to academic programs. The Assistant To facilitates the management of CAHNRS academic programs by supporting the Associate Dean and serving as a primary resource for faculty, staff, and students. The position also oversees the planning and execution of special projects and events that advance the College's mission.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Positions require a Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field AND five (5) years of managing administrative support experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

• Experience in an academic or educational setting, demonstrating familiarity with the unique needs of students, faculty, and staff.

 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Adobe Acrobat

 

• Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service in a professional environment.

 

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet varying deadlines effectively.

 

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including drafting professional correspondence and reports.

 

• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

 

• Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain harmonious working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience working in higher education, particularly within student success, academic, or undergraduate programs.

 

• Demonstrated effective leadership skills, including training and supervisionDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and written.

 

• Familiarity with WSU systems and data sources, including OPDRS, MyWSU, Workday, budget management and the Blue course evaluation system.

 

• Experience planning and coordinating events.

 

• Ability to develop and implement office procedures to improve operational efficiency.

 

• Proven track record of successfully managing budgets and financial processes.
