Job description

We are an established small business that is growing rapidly and looking for an experienced Gardeners to join our team. Our company specializes in fine gardening of estates that serve as a respite from the city life, summer fun, and daily living for our clients. As we cater to an array of clients, some call for creative solutions to achieve a "Sunset Magazine" worthy garden every visit, while others love to see the "Beach art" which is whatever has washed up. Our company seeks to meet these requests through levels of holistic inspired horticulture practices, landscape maintenance, planting installation, sometimes even landscape construction, and most of all staying adaptable.

Description Position requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • 1+ years of Horticultural/Landscape experience in a professional setting.
  • Has reliable transportation to and from job sites/shop.
  • Identifies as hardworking, a self-starter, and capable of working independently.
  • Possesses strong ornamental and PNW weed identification skills.
  • Sees the big picture when it comes to landscape work and can prioritize tasks.
  • Is able to complete physical labor including bending, lifting, digging, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time
  • Is willing to work a flexible schedule. Longer hours during peak season, May-August (occasional 10 to 11-hour days). Shorter hours and weather dependent work Nov-Feb. We pay overtime!

Job Description:

  • Perform garden maintenance tasks on customers property including, but not limited to:

``` - Maintenance of trees, shrubs, perennial and seasonal flowers. - Use of hand shears, hand pruners and hand loppers. Gas and electric equipment such as: power shears, power blowers, mowers, line trimmers and blowers - Mowing, edging, blowing, fertilizer application, weed control, bed raking, trimming and pruning. - Perform all regular tasks including but not limited to leaf and debris removal. - Watering containers, beds and hanging baskets as needed.

``` - Exceed clients expectations by providing professional, courteous and efficient service at all times. - Project a good company image at all times.

``` - Ensure a professional appearance, good hygiene and a clean work attire. - Able to work effectively in a team and assume responsibility for own work when put on individual tasks. - Follow direction and guidance provided On site Leads and Management.

``` - Report problems or concerns regarding property maintenance to Onsite Lead and Account Manager. - Assist Lead with Work vehicle maintenance:

``` - Maintain clean vehicle at all times, ensuring interior and exterior cleanliness. - Remove personal items from vehicles daily (lunchboxes, cell phones, garbage, etc.). - Wash truck weekly and keep cab interior clean and organized.

``` - Responsible for equipment assigned including but not limited to:

``` - Report problems/concerns with equipment and tools or need for tools/equipment and supplies to Lead. - Keeping track of company issued tools at all times. - Keep tools and equipment organized and secure when on job sites.

``` - Ensure personal working hours, including overtime, have been recorded accurately and truthfully for each time period worked. - Assist team to ensure sites are restored to original condition, or better if necessary. E.g. without holes, exposed pipes or gravel, footprints in beds, exposed roots, or soil/debris on surrounding hardscape upon completion of work. - Actively engaged in training days and shows interest in extending education in the field.

Salary $17 - $20 per hour
