Dove House Advocacy Services Facilities Manager in Port Townsend, Washington

Summary 

The Facilities Manager is integral to the DHAS building systems and daily functionality. This person will be responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance inside and out of the grounds (4 buildings), preventative and ongoing maintenance support, as well as proposing areas for capital improvements. The Facilities Manager creates and manages systems that keep the facility and the organization running at high capacity and volume. Primary maintenance responsibilities include buildings, grounds, fire protection systems, HVAC systems, and other mechanical, electrical, and building systems. The Facilities Manager serves as a steward of safety, controlling access and ensuring work is completed in compliance with applicable standards. This is a hands-on position. 

Specific Job Functions 

Facility Maintenance (40%) 

  • Managing the budget accounts and performing equipment audits.

``` - Maintaining an adequate inventory of parts and making orders when necessary.

``` - Ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations.

``` - Monitoring systems performance and managing repairs.

``` - Preparing facility for changing weather conditions.

``` - Assist DHAS and event staff with after-hours facility use as needed, including assistance with event set-up (may require work out of normal hours) 

 

Building Maintenance (60%) 

  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.

``` - Carry out an inspection of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.

``` - Plan and inspect all installation and repair activities. 

```{=html}

``` - Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.

``` - Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with.

``` - Liaise with service providers and external vendors as needed.

``` - Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance events with minimal downtime.

``` - Develop regular schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications/Skills 

  • Two years of professional experience

``` - Ensures all processes are compliance programs are met to maintain a safe work environment for all employees and clients

``` - Able to develop and maintain a working knowledge of the operations and maintenance of security, electrical, and mechanical systems

``` - Self-starter with the ability to identify, prioritize, and execute projects in the absence of the Executive Director or Program Managers

``` - Strong procurement and negotiation skills

``` - Provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous communication, including effective presentation skills

``` - Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet scheduled and unscheduled deadlines
