The Environmental Assessment Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Microbiologist 2 *position. This position is located in our *Manchester Environmental Laboratory in* Port Orchard, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. In this role, you will be responsible for performing and examining complex microbiological tests on water in a production environmental laboratory creating legally binding data. Program Mission: The mission of the Environmental Assessment Program{rel="nofollow"} is to measure, assess, and communicate environmental conditions in Washington state. Our Manchester Environmental Laboratory{rel="nofollow"} is an environmental laboratory, providing scientific services to local, state, federal, and tribal governments and laboratory analyses on samples collected throughout the state for organic, inorganic, and microbiological contaminants. Schedule: *This position is required to work in the office five days per week and is not eligible for telework.
