The Environmental Assessment Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Microbiologist 2 *position. This position is located in our *Manchester Environmental Laboratory inPort Orchard, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.   Join a team that is working to improve the environment for current and future generations through innovative and excellent science and thriving partnerships! In this role, you will be responsible for performing and examining complex microbiological tests on water in a production environmental laboratory creating legally binding data. Program Mission: The mission of the Environmental Assessment Program{rel="nofollow"} is to measure, assess, and communicate environmental conditions in Washington state.   Our Manchester Environmental Laboratory{rel="nofollow"} is an environmental laboratory, providing scientific services to local, state, federal, and tribal governments and laboratory analyses on samples collected throughout the state for organic, inorganic, and microbiological contaminants.  Schedule: *This position is required to work in the office five days per week and is not eligible for telework.
