In this role, you'll help with the repair and maintenance of construction and mechanical equipment such as trucks, trailers, batch plants, paving machines, bulldozers, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, loaders and other equipment. The worker may work at ground level or in a service pit, providing mechanical maintenance and inspection to company vehicles. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Perform routine vehicles maintenance (change oil and filter, lubrication, coolant and fuel).
Services vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.
Maintains and repairs heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment on a company-wide basis.
Analyzes malfunctions and report need for further diagnostics or repair to mechanics.
Orders parts and supplies, maintains purchase orders and invoices, create work orders, schedule PM's, and document needed repairs. Operates computer for job functions.
Operate and inspect vehicles and equipment to diagnose defects.
Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand tools.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.
Assist other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of vehicles.
Perform and maintain fluid analysis program.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
