Job Description SummarySUMMARY: Responsible for the assuring the optimum performance and equipment reliability of the Automatic Defect Removal and Sorting equipment (hereafter referred to as ADR and Sorting equipment). Works with both production and maintenance personnel and will be responsible for accomplishing the daily hands on operation, sanitation, and maintenance of the equipment. Provides problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities in dealing with equipment performance, equipment maintenance, product quality, training and equipment reliability. Job duties require an in-depth knowledge of electronics, mechanics and computers.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.Maintains and promotes safe work practices at all times, assures that safe work practices are being followed in all work groups, and actively participates in safety programs.Must understand and follow all applicable plant safety policies including but not limited to lockout / tagout procedures.Evaluates equipment for performance, performs tests and makes adjustments, etc., as needed to assure optimal equipment performance and the production of quality potato products.Proficient and responsible for sanitation and food safety practices.Utilize Quality Assurance system for calibration and quality data entry.Perform routine diagnostic checks on systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.Able to troubleshoot and determine if a problem is operational or mechanical in nature and if operational, make necessary operational changes, if mechanical repair or replace any necessary components to restore and sustain mechanical reliability.Repairs and maintains system support equipment including but not limited to: graders, shakers, conveyors and soft water system to maximize their efficiency and sustain equipment reliability.Advises supervisory personnel on maintenance requirements, repairs equipment, and performs maintenance activities that sustains equipment reliability to maximize plant production and uptime.Performs and documents line checks, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance, including the lubrication and inspection of equipment to sustain equipment reliability.Examines parts to detect imperfections, identify reason for failure, and to take corrective action.Performs and documents troubleshooting of PLC, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems and controls.Performs and documents removal, installation, disassembly, repair, and assembly of plant equipment.Proficient at using the plant Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to write Notifications, complete and enter Work Orders, complete PM routes, and enter equipment history.Job QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; two-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of four years education and related experience and/or training.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write accurate information in English. Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English.MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of vari
