Team Leader Raw Receiving (Crew A) - Othello, WA

Summary

Responsible for overseeing and leading the activities of the raw receiving team to ensure the consistent and efficient supply of raw product to the processing lines in order to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Leads the raw receiving team on an assigned shift to ensure processing line volumes requirements are delivered to meet all customer expectations.

• To ensure plant manufacturing operations attain required volume, recovery, grade yield and cost control.

• Leads the Raw Receiving Team Members to ensure grade yield, food safety, and sanitation, quality, and safety performance meet operational needs.

• Ensures the Raw Receiving Team Members and self comply with plant policies, procedures and the Union Labor Agreement.

• Ensures the safe handling and transportation of raw potato samples to Moses Lake, WA as needed as secondary support; using a one-ton truck with flatbed trailer in tow. Ensures that all necessary documents or receipts are turned in to the proper Plant personnel.

• Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate skills and knowledge.

• Ensures no injury to self or others by following safe work practices

• Ensures interface with team members and other support personnel is conducted in participative management style conductive with operational goals.

• Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures confidentiality regarding sensitive issues and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the company.

• Ensure that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational goals.

• Ensures accurate information is correctly entered into Floor Level Control Systems

• Ensure that all resources material and human are effectively applied to maximize return.

• Must be able to complete training on the safe operation of the lift truck and successfully pass and maintain certification requirements.

• Must be able to complete training on fall protection and must meet and maintain fall restraint requirements.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

1+ years related experience and/or training

• Product specifications

• Raw receiving team customer expectations

• Strong oral and written communications skills and basic math skills.

• Skills in leadership, delegating, coaching, development, and problem solving.

• Must be able to safely operate sizing equipment.

• Physical ability to perform the tasks of all jobs in the raw receiving team.

• Must have the ability to operate the controls of company vehicles and equipment in a safe and proper manner (i.e. pickup truck, flatbed truck, truck and trailer combination, forklift, tractors).
