The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the recruitment for an On-Call Licensed Practical Nurse 2 at our Washington Soldiers Home (WSH). This job is located at Washington Soldiers Home, located in Orting, near Puyallup.

WDVA operates four veterans' homes in Port Orchard, Orting, Spokane, and Walla Walla providing Medicare and Medicaid nursing care for honorably discharged veterans, to include, in some instances, their spouses, widows or gold star parents.

Some of what you will be doing: As a LPN 2 you will be promoting resident centered care and ensuring that veterans are treated with dignity and respect. This position supervises care that is delivered by the NAC's and assists in the delivery of nursing and nursing related care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities: Prepares and cares for residents receiving specialized treatments administered by the physician or the professional nurse and perform selected nursing procedures.

Assists with the rehabilitation and provides care to residents according to their treatment plan.

Prepares for and provides aftercare of treatment and administration of medications under the supervision of the professional nurse.

Observes, records, and reports the general condition of residents and reports any changes.

Required Qualifications: Currently holds a valid LPN license from the State of Washington.

Preferred Qualifications: Long term care experience.

Experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.
