Interpreter/Classroom Support

*About the position: *The Interpreter/Classroom Support will support classrooms across Okanogan County, attend parent meetings, conferences, and be available to translate via telephone or video calls to support the partnership between staff, families, and our consultants. This partnership will promote parents as the first and most important teachers of their children, empower advocacy for their children, and increase equity and inclusion for all enrolled families. This deep partnership is essential to develop plans that best support challenging behaviors and decrease the number of child incidents and injuries, promoting school readiness for all children and families.

* Education and Experience:*

  • High School/GED 

  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English

  • Experience interpreting and/or translating English and Spanish

  • Valid Washington State Drivers License

  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education, preferred

     

* Details:*

  • Full-time 40hr per week

  • 41 Weeks per year (one week off at spring break and two at winter break, and some designated weeks in the summer) 

  • Wage $21.35 per hour for qualified applicant

  • Access to continuing education

  • Regular access to a team, who will support you in all aspects of your duties

  • Position travels to or supports centers in Omak, Okanogan, Oroville, Tonasket, and Methow Valley.
