WSDOT Division of Accounting and Financial Services (AFS) is seeking an experienced financial professional with the ability to analyze complex structures & work with a detail-oriented mindset to join the project team dedicated to replacing the current financial system; Project Propel. AFS delivers high quality financial services, consultation and training that supports WSDOT in providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation options to improve livable communities and economic vitality. What to Expect As a key member of a team of financial professionals, this position is responsible for the following: * Managing project activities for 2 distinct and separate workstreams for Project Propel, which involves managing workstream resources & ensuring that 100% of assigned deliverables and assignments are completed timely. * Providing expert accounting and financial analyses for accounting policy and business process issues that arise during the course of the project. * Participating in the review and design of business processes. * Coordinating with AFS and other WSDOT divisions to assess impacts related to the implementation of a new financial system. Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required: * Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of recent experience working in large and complex organizations leading business projects, analyzing policy, or conducting business analysis and developing requirements. Additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree. * Experience using analytical problem-solving methods or process improvement methods. * Experience leading or participating in process mapping activities. * Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Demonstrated ability to learn and master new concepts quickly. * Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly changing environment. It is preferred that qualified candidates also have: * Experience with Washington State administrative and accounting policies. * Experience with WSDOT systems. * Experience working on large and complex projects. * Government experience. Important Notes * * Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, this position will be remote in a telework capacity full-time.
