Volt is immediately hiring a Systems Engineering Lab Administrator in Richardson, TX. As Systems Engineering Lab Administrator you will: * The Integration and Test team supports the development, integration, and test of the aircraft AAS ground training devices. * The ground training devices consist of a mission systems trainer simulator, electronic classroom for desktop instruction, and a mission planning and debrief station. * The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the lab systems operational and cyber compliant. * The candidate must be comfortable working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment and have very strong communication skills. A successful candidate should be able to: * Maintain aircraft AAS training devices operational * Perform scheduled lab maintenance operations and cyber continuous monitoring activities in the labs. Ensure that all systems are reporting to all of the scanning tools and showing connected on the network. Configure and verify data is backed up. Recover data from backup in the event of data loss. * Troubleshoot hardware, software, and/or network problems to find root cause and collaborate with the functional teams to find resolution. * Manage lab systems network using tools such as SolarWinds. Troubleshoot network slowdowns/latency issues. * Install and configure Windows and Linux virtual machines to meet cyber security requirements. Install and test monthly patches on the operating. * Configure network switches, servers, virtual machines to communicate in the network and ensure cyber compliance, including firmware upgrades. * Manage network storage using Vcenter and NetApp software suites. * Ensure backups in each laboratory occur routinely based on site information assurance (IA) and cyber requirements. * Monitor growing partitions and/or directories on domain controllers, backups, and other devices. Gain familiarity with local site scripts controlling different aspects of each device and make necessary changes as needed based upon site information assurance (IA) and cyber requirements. * Liaison with Product Security Engineering (PSE), Cyber, and Information Technology (IT) teams in order to synchronize efforts the laboratories may impact. * Develop and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures, software configuration and installation, standard operating procedures. This is a 12 Month full time Contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have: Clearance Required: Active Secret to Start Required Skills * DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, CASP) - must be active * 3+ years of experience on Linux OS administration * 3+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem- solving strategies * 3+ years of experience on Windows/Windows Server OS administration * Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically (intermittent for remote installations) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Active Top Secret Clearance * 5+ years of experience on Linux OS administration * 5+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem- solving strategies * Experience with HPE Library Backup Tapes Library / Veritas Backup Tool * Experience with NetApp products * Experience with Cisco / Mellanox switches * Experience with VMware products * Experience with SolarWinds * Active Linux/Windows/Cisco Operating System certifications (e.g. CCNA, Red Hat Linux+, Windows Server 2016, etc.) * Experience with scripting languages such as: bash, PowerShell, python.
