Description
Robert Half is partnering with a dedicated and impactful non-profit organization based in Olympia, committed to making a positive difference in our community. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant on a temporary basis to join the finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Blackbaud, a leading software solution for non-profit financial management. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial operations using Blackbaud's software. This position requires a candidate with strong accounting skills, a passion for non-profit work, and proficiency in utilizing Blackbaud's features to support our mission.
Financial Management:
Utilize Blackbaud to manage and oversee day-to-day accounting functions.
Process and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Generate financial reports using Blackbaud for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process invoices and payments using Blackbaud's accounts payable functionality.
Manage donor contributions and ensure accurate recording of donations.
Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
Grant Accounting:
Work closely with program managers to track and report on grant expenditures.
Utilize Blackbaud to ensure compliance with grant funding requirements.
Assist in the preparation of grant financial reports.
General Support:
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
Participate in the annual audit process.
Stay current on Blackbaud updates and best practices for non-profit financial management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Proven experience as a Staff Accountant in a non-profit setting.
Proficiency in using Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT or similar non-profit accounting software.
Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
