Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

As part of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) organisation that is responsible for building Oracle’s vision for the future of the Cloud, the Enterprise Engineering Collaboration Services Organisation delivers Enterprise-wide service management and support to 135,000+ Oracle employees globally, focussing on collaborative tools.

We are looking for a Senior Manager to be a member of the Enterprise Engineering Collaborative Applications Services team. This challenging and highly rewarding management role will allow the successful candidate to use their skills to manage a team of Site Reliability Engineers focussed on supporting Microsoft Exchange and Email security technologies for Oracle’s internal customers, in addition to driving projects and service improvement initiatives with an IT Operations focus.

Responsibilities

Oracle Enterprise Engineering is looking for a self-driven professional manager who possesses a strong combination of IT Operations skills and experience. Duties will be varied, require independent judgment and proactive action with the role including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Management of the Collaborative Application Services DevOps team to deliver IT Operations administration and support for the services in scope

  • Owning and driving critical operational activities including security remediation, SLA compliance, escalation duty coverage and daily operational tasks

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to define, document and manage the deliverables of Collaborative Application Services DevOps team members

  • Contribute to the roadmap of the Collaborative Application Services team, focussing on service improvement and process automation initiatives

  • Interact with senior management on service related escalations or queries

  • Own development planning, talent review, goal setting and performance management for the Collaborative Application Services DevOps team members

  • Assist with recruiting broader Collaboration Services team, as required

  • Drive Corrective Action, Preventive Action reviews and actions

  • Build strong relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to deliver world class services and support

What you’ll work with

The role will be to manage a team of engineers working on technical implementation projects and resolving end user issues when using

  • Microsoft Exchange Online (including Azure Active Directory) and Powershell/GraphAPI

  • Email security technologies delivered via gateway products and SaaS services provided by Proofpoint in addition to those within Exchange, including Targeted Attack Protection, Email Fraud Defence, TRAP/CLEAR and Exchange Online Protection

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure deployments for Collaborative Applications email routing services for internal use cases.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience of managing technical staff, ideally in an IT Operations support environment

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange and Email routing, delivery and message protection services will be advantageous

  • Experience in improving complex IT service deployments

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff at various levels of experience

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

  • Excellent verbal and written English Language communication skills who can communicate well with management

  • Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure

  • Good knowledge of IT Security controls

  • A self-motivated individual who can demonstrate strong prioritization skills to retain focus on key objectives
